Renee So
So works with ceramic and wool, creating sculptural and knitted portraits that suggest a multiplicity of lineages and styles. Her ceramic busts are built piecemeal from the base upward, borrowing conceits from military and aristocratic portraiture, theatre costuming, and ritual masks of ancient civilizations. Rosemarie Trockel: Flagrant Delight
This survey constitutes the first large exhibition of Rosemarie Trockel (1952, Schwerte) in Belgium. Although the work of Rosemarie Trockel clearly references the symbolic and aesthetic legacies of surrealism and dada, her work has until now hardly been shown in the country. Review by Marianne Van Boxelaere. Until 25th May

Edward Sanders: Grobo Mesa
The title ‘Grobo Mesa’ is an incongruous juxtaposition. ‘Grobo’, a seemingly nonsensical word in conjunction with the geographical classification. ‘Mesa’ hints at a struggle between colloquial definition and conventional categorisation. The paintings glide between pictorial models, each with its’ own autonomy. Portraiture, geometric abstraction and pattern, pointillist looking magnifications, laconic figuration and colour fields all make a cameo. Despite their apparent disparity there is a homogenising focus on flatness and surface.
